VARK Picasso Head

Your scores were:
Visual: 4
Aural: 10
Read/Write: 3
Kinesthetic: 3
You have a very strong Aural learning preference.

Three Ways Technology can help my learning style is:

1. If I am having a hard time figuring out how a piece of music sounds, I can go to Youtube and listen to it.
2. If I am reading a book I can get an audible version of the book.
3. Instead of taking notes, I can record the lesson and listen to the key points of lesson to study.

Wordle

I learned that one of my peers had two fish and they didn't want them anymore so they flushed them down the toilet.

The way I could use this in my class room is to have the students answer a poll by telling me who their favorite composer is. Then I could pick music for them to play based on who they liked.

RA #1

Quote:

"The new classroom should teach the huge array of complex skills that come under the heading of digital literacy. And it should make students accountable on the Web, where they should regularly be aiming, from grade-school on, to contribute to a wide range of wiki projects." (Virginia Heffernan 2011)

Reaction:

I agree with what Heffernan said. Teachers should teach students with digital literacy. Use something like a Smart Board in a math class room, having the kids get up and show their work on the board. In English use tablets and ebooks for in the class room reading. Science and History have the students look up information on the web. I think with the way things are going, teachers will need to know all the technology that their students are using. Like in the music class room, have the students use Garage Band and Finale.

The Future of Work

After watching the video there was three things that I disagreed with strongly was:

 1. That No One is going to pay me for having a degree. First off with most jobs now a days you  have to have a degree to even get the job or at least a High School Diploma/ GED.

2. College is the NEW High School. I don't think that if it was more people would be going to college and that college wouldn't cost the students money. It would be free to them.

3. Competition for jobs is no longer limited where you live. That I was confused about that. I don't understand if they mean like I don't have to compete for jobs anymore or I am going to have to worry about people stealing my job.

So far in college, I feel like it is getting me prepared for working in the future with the new Technology that will be coming out for Music Education.
